Social networking websites are a great way to meet new friends and to share your creative efforts such as poetry and music. Most social networking websites are easy to use. You can have your own customized website set up in a matter of minutes.

    Sign up for an account. You need to give a valid email address as well as your name. Some social networking websites may also ask for your zip code or country as well as your age. Most ask for your name as well. You need to validate the email address you give so be sure to give a valid address.

    Take some time to personalize your profile in your new website. You may want to list favorite music, movies, television shows and such. Save your entries.

  3. Step 3

    Find some friends. You may already know someone with a social networking website. Ask them to join your circle of friends. When they do, all their friends become your friends as well. It doesn't take long to get a lot of friends.

    Communicate with your friends. Send emails to your friends. Remember to check your emails as well. You can also send instant messages to friends who are online.
