Insults are difficult to handle, especially when the insult is from a friend. Some insults are meant to point out things that the girl insulting you finds irritating about you. Other times, insults are just meant to be mean. Regardless of the purpose of the insult, handling the girl who insulted you may prove to be a challenge.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stay calm when you hear the insult. This may be difficult but, it is best that you keep a level head so that you won't say anything that you will regret later. In addition, if you stay calm instead of insulting her back, you are showing her that you are a mature person by handling the situation with tact.

  2. Step 2

Determine the purpose of the insult. She could have insulted you just to be mean. Another possibility is that she is trying to offer you feedback and just went about it in the wrong way. If the insult was said in anger, such as during an argument, take that into consideration when you try to determine what made the girl insult you.

  3. Step 3

Talk to the girl calmly about the insult if you are friends with her and want to preserve your friendship. It is best to wait until you are both calm and alone before you try to talk to her.

  4. Step 4

Keep away from the girl who insulted you if she did it just to be mean. Remember that a friend who insults you just to be mean is a toxic friend and you will be better off without her in the long run.

  5. Step 5

Pray about the situation and the girl if you are religious. Prayer can have a powerful impact on even the most hurtful situation.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never get into a physical or verbal fight with a girl who has insulted you. If she is persistent about having a confrontation, find an adult or someone who can intervene to help diffuse a volatile situation.
