How to Use Telephone Recording Software
Telephone recording software allows you to listen to completed calls, send recorded files to others and print out reports. Telephone recording software is easy to set up and is usually installed by connecting a device between your phone and computer. Menus and interfaces vary by manufacturer, but the general instructions listed here apply to most software packages.

Check the phone and system requirements for the phone recording software. Make sure the software supports your type of phone system. Check your computer's memory, processing speed and drive space.

Follow the manufacturer's directions to install the recording software.

Find out whether it's legal to record phone calls without consent in your state. If necessary, let the caller know that the call will be recorded.

Set up the software for automated or manual recording. In automated mode, the software will start when you answer a call. In manual mode, you must start the software each time you want to record.

Open the call recording software from a desktop or taskbar shortcut. Press the "Record" button. Complete the call. Press "Stop" to end the recording.

Click "Playback" on the menu. Click the "Search" button. Search for calls by date and time of the call or notes about the call. Choose a call from the list of calls. Click "Play" or "Playback."

Select "Delete" to remove the recording, "Save" or "Export" to save it as a .wav file, or the notes feature to add or edit notes about the call.
