If done properly, email marketing can be a great way to get your products and services out to people who may be looking for that product. However, there is a thin line between targeted emails and spam, which cause harm to your business as well as your reputation.

Instructions

    Find Your Prospective Clients

  1. Step 1

Find out who your target market is, then compile a list of companies whom you wish to contact.

  2. Step 2

Go to that company's website and read their FAQ's [Frequently Asked Questions] to find out if their company may interested in your product or service.

  3. Step 3

Go find the "Contact Us" section of the webpage. Click on the link to find that company's email information or the right contact to email.

  4. Making Your Pitch

  5. Step 1

Write a brief message regarding why the email is being sent along with the actual message itself. Make it look as personal as possible.

  6. Step 2

Place your products and services in order in your message from most important to least.

  7. Step 3

Send your email to your recipients once. Multiple messages can be looked at as spam, and may not be taken seriously by your recipients.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be honest and truthful in your message. Do not make offers that are "Too good to be true." Be direct in your approach.
  • Capitalize on any responses with a phone call to the company. Talk to the contact person in the email to discuss what you are trying to do.
  • Avoid any scripted sales pitches, if possible. This may ruin the genuineness of your campaign.
