Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Black top hat
  • Small wand
  • Small black ball
  • Small white ball
  • Colored scarf
  1. Step 1

Place the top hat on a table. Put the black and white balls side by side inside the hat. Place the wand in the hat and drape the scarf over your left arm. It is important that the balls are about the size of table tennis or golf balls, and the wand needs to be small. You need to be able to hold both balls in one hand as you reach inside the hat to get the wand.

  2. Step 2

Reach into the hat. Grab the white ball and place it in the palm of your hand. Wrap your fingers around the ball. Pinch the black ball between your thumb and index finger. Pull your hand out of the hat with the black ball facing the audience. Pull your hand up to your chest and reveal the black ball as you turn your hand to hide the white ball from the audience.

  3. Step 3

Drape the scarf over the black ball with your left hand. Quickly switch the positions of the ball and the scarf. Grab the scarf and the white ball with your left hand at the same time. Hold the scarf up in the air.

  4. Step 4

Lower your right hand into the hat and grab the wand. Release the black ball into the hat when your hand is not seen by the audience.

  5. Step 5

Wave the wand over the scarf and pull the scarf off.

  6. Step 6

    Reveal the white ball.
