Are you tired of getting a great blowout hairstyle at the salon only to find that you just cannot replicate the style at home? Relax. You too can learn to do blowout hairstyles that are so sleek and chic everyone will think your stylist has moved into your house. Grab your hair dryer and follow these easy steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Towel-dry your hair until it's damp before you begin to blow-dry it. Blow-drying dripping wet hair can take unnecessarily long and damage your hard-earned locks. Comb your hair out completely.

  2. Step 2

Apply a pea-sized amount of thermal product to protect your hair as well as smoother or volumizer, depending on your desired style.

  3. Step 3

    Divide your hair into sections.

  4. Step 4

Begin to blow-dry your hair at medium heat and high speed, starting at the back of your head. Hold the blow-dryer at a 45-degree angle, drying down the hair shaft to smooth the hair cuticle and create shine.

  5. Step 5

Brush the hair as you are drying. Choose a round brush to create volume, and select a paddle brush for straightening and smoothing.

  6. Step 6

Use the "cool shot" button to lock in curls you finish your style. Lift the hair and spray underneath with a medium-hold spray.

  7. Step 7

Use a ceramic flat iron or curling iron if desired to finish the style.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always use some sort of thermal styling product when you are exposing your hair to heat from a hairdryer, curling iron or flat iron.
  • Avoid having blowout hairstyles every single day of the week. For overall hair health, give your hair a break by allowing it to dry naturally some days.
