Facial hair has its ups and downs in mens' style, but there is always a market for grooming supplies. Whether you've had a beard your whole life or working on your first mustache, keeping your whiskers in order should be a top priority. Depending on your needs there is a wide world of options in mens' grooming. Here are a few tips on caring for your facial hair.

  1. Step 1

Buy a quality set of facial hair scissors with rounded points. A sharp pair of scissors helps with minor trims and reconfigurations of facial hair. Not all mustaches and beards grow at the same pace across your face, so this will help keep them even.

  2. Step 2

Invest in a beard and mustache trimmer if your tastes in facial hair change often. This electric razor comes with different-sized guards to allow for different lengths of facial hair. The guards also ensure an even shave throughout the face, which is difficult with scissors alone.

  3. Step 3

Purchase a high-quality safety razor to cut parts of your facial hair back to the skin. An easy way, for example, to remove everything but a mustache would be to use an electric trimmer to shorten all the hair except the mustache and then give yourself a clean shave with a razor and shaving cream.

  4. Step 4

Apply aftershave to bare skin. This helps moisturize and open up clogged pores which promotes healthy skin and excellent facial hair growth. Be warned that some men find aftershave uncomfortable, as it stings the skin after application.

  5. Step 5

Look into purchasing a good facial hair shampoo. Facial hair shampoo helps maintain healthy hair and in many cases can be combined with hair dyes to alter your hair color if necessary.
