Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Determine how much memory you need for your MacBook Air. The standard version comes with 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM, which is plenty for most applications. If you plan on heavy usage such as extensive gaming or downloading, you may wish to have more RAM installed.
Step2
Have a relatively high budget for a laptop computer. MacBook Airs can be pricier than other computers. If you add accessories or additional memory or functions to the unit, these options will be additional.
Step3
Decide which accessories you want to purchase for your MacBook Air. This unit is less than an inch thick. You may decide to purchase an additional protective carrying case for the computer just in case you might bump or drop it.
Step4
Buy a MacBook Air from your local computer or electronics store. You may have to have it specially ordered, because of the unit's popularity. Typically new units can be shipped in to stores in a matter of days, and you'll likely have to pay for it up front. If you place a factory order, add on any additional memory or programs that you'd like it to come with.
Step5
Order directly from Apple, the manufacturer. By ordering your MacBook Air directly from the manufacturer, you may be able to obtain special warranties or add-ons. In addition, Apple has additional accessories designed specifically for the MacBook Air that you won't find in stores.
