Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • New fog lights
  • Ratchet wrench
  • Screwdrivers
  • Safety glasses
  • Gloves
  1. Step 1

Remove the two plastic covers, located under the bumper in the front. Use a ratchet wrench to make the job easier. You may need special tools, depending on the make of your car. Check the owner's manual or do a visual inspection before you begin the project.

  2. Step 2

Loosen the lower front bumper cover; removal isn't necessary. Take off the 8-mm bolt and torx screw.

  3. Step 3

Look for a plastic fastener that locks in place in the center between the fog light and bumper. Remove the fastener by hand.

  4. Step 4

Locate the three bolts that hold the fog light onto the bumper. You can see them once you remove the cover. Check at the bottom of the fog light assembly and remove these bolts.

  5. Step 5

Take out the fog light through the bottom. When you replace the whole fixture, you should take the cable as well. If you're just replacing the light, leave the cable.

  6. Step 6

Remove the access cover and take off the connector cable. Push the bulb in gently to separate the connection on the back and release the bulb.

  7. Step 7

Replace the fog lights, push down and twist and reassemble.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wear gloves when you handle halogen bulbs. The oil from your skin may damage the bulbs. You also should wear safety glasses.
