4. Remove your nails on your own. Salons often charge an extra fee to remove acrylic nails before putting on a new set. Save money by taking the nails off prior to your visit. To do this, soak the nails in nail polish remover until the glue loosens and you can pull each nail off.

5. Apply acrylic nails at home. You don't even need to visit a salon at all to get acrylic nails. Purchase an acrylic nail set, glue and nail buffer, and put them on at home.
