Google is one of the Internet's leading search engines. Search engine optimization is a huge obstacle that many websites face on a daily basis. If you use Google Earth, your site leaps in the search engine rankings with little effort on your part.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Web page
  • Business address

Step1
Download and run Google Earth. This is a free program provided by Google.
Step2
Type in the city and state of your business in the "Fly To" box in Google Earth. Type in the name of your business. Your business now appears in Google Earth if you have a business listing in the telephone book. Click on the name of your business.
Step3
Find your business on Google Earth and click it again. This opens a Google search directory web page for your business.
Step4
Click on "Edit" in the Google Earth map window. Choose "Movie Maker" and select "Satellite."
Step5
Sign in to your Google account. If you do not have one, sign up for a new account for free. Then go to Google Earth.
Step6
Search for your business again. A marker appears on the screen for your business. The marker may not be placed in front of the building, so move the marker around the map to the location of the front door of your business. Click "Save."
Step7
Click on "Claim Your Business." Choose "Edit" and click "Continue."
Step8
Add your business information and click "Next." Upload a picture of the business and click "OK." Follow the instructions and choose how you want Google to contact you to confirm your information. Click "Finish."
