Step 1
Talk to the twins about sleeping in big kid beds. Let them help you decide if they are ready to sleep independently or if they want to share a full sized bed or larger. Twins often have a very close bond and are used to sleeping together in the crib. They may not be ready to venture off to sleep alone quite yet.
-
Step 2
Measure your twin's bedroom to decide if you should get bunk beds or if there is enough room for two twin beds. If your twins are moving on to their own bedrooms, you will only measure for the size bed you can fit in their own rooms.
-
Step 3
Take the twins shopping for their new beds. If the twins are getting bunk beds, let them work together to find something that is just right for the both of them. With so many kinds of bunk beds now, the choices may be plentiful. If the twins are getting separate beds, let them have a choice in color and style to help them express their individuality.
-
Step 4
Let the twins decide on the bedding that will look best on their own big bed. The bedding is an important choice for the twins to become excited about their newfound independence.
-
Step 5
Buy the beds for the twins that are within your budget. Life with twins can get expensive, so it is best to find beds that are of your twin's liking, but that also won't break your bank.
