How to Make a Paper Bag Puppet of Yourself

If you like making puppets, you can make paper bag puppets that resemble humans. Create a unique paper bag puppet that looks like you. You can add facial features and hair to resemble a human face. Use these tips to make a paper bag puppet of oneself.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Use a paper bag to start your puppet. This will be the base for the person you create. Place the bag on a tabletop with the bottom flap facing up. You will use the flap to put the facial features on.

  2. Step 2

    Pick flesh colored construction paper or manila paper to make your ears. Look in the mirror to see how they are shaped and what size they are. Draw two ears that match your own and then cut them out of the paper. Glue the ears on the sides of the paper bag flap. Make sure they are even on both sides.

  3. Step 3

    Draw two eyes in the top third of the flap. You want them centred and the same size and shape as your eyes. Make sure you color them to match your eye color. You can also draw two eyes on construction paper, cut them out and glue them onto the paper bag.

  4. Step 4

    Add eyebrows and eye lashes to your puppet face to make them look more realistic. Add a nose beneath and between the eyes. Draw a mustache or beard if you have one.

  5. Step 5

    Find pink paper to make a mouth. Draw lips on the paper and cut them out. Make sure they look realistic and match your own lips.

  6. Step 6

    Cut yarn in the color of your hair and add it to the top of the puppet's head. Match the length and style to your own hair.

  7. Step 7

    Make two arms out of construction paper and add them to the sides of the puppet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Look in the mirror when you are constructing your puppet.
  • Make sure your proportions are accurate.
