How to Create a Comic Book Effect in Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop is image editing software that allows users to manipulate images in hundreds of ways. Users can change the lighting in an image or remove or alter the colors for a hand-drawn or comic book effect.

Open Adobe Photoshop. Look for the Program File folder on a Windows-based PC and click the Photoshop icon or shortcut icon on the desktop.

Import the desired image into Photoshop. Look for the image on the computer and simply left-click on the image and drag it to the Photoshop workspace area. Open the image by selecting "File," then "Open."

Look for the option on the top toolbar to open the "Filters" menu drop down list. With the image on the Photoshop workspace, choose the "Artistic" option on the menu.

Click on the "Poster Edges" option next. This will open a section of Photoshop that allows the alteration of an image.

Manipulate the sliders for differing effects that mimic a comic book. Change the image "Thickness" and "Intensity" until you achieve the look desired.

Choose the "Cutout" feature within the Artistic filter palette to further refine the comic book effect.

Inspect the final image for artifacts or jaggedness. Smooth out the edges.
