How to Add Highlights to an Airbrushed Wood Grain Painting

Painting with airbrushes means that you have the capacity to create some pretty true-to-life effects. One such effect is the airbrushed wood grain painting.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Make a tape line to mark the edge of where you wish to paint when adding highlights to an airbrushed wood grain painting.

  2. Step 2

    Add some white as part of highlighting so that it will resemble a 45 degree angle cut in the wood.

  3. Step 3

    Accentuate the edge by staying close to the tape, so that when you add highlights to an airbrushed wood grain painting, so that you make the overall painting look true to life: the sharpness of the cut edge and the darker hue of the face of the wood.

  4. Step 4

    Peel back a little of the masking tape to judge how your highlights appear as you are airbrushing a wood grain painting. If you are happy with the result, then you can peel back the tape the rest of the way. Of not, add more highlights before removing the tape.

  5. Step 5

    Change the highlights still more by using a dry erasure to rub away some of the airbrushed paint to reveal the whiteness beneath.
