How to Make a Coffee Foot Scrub

If your feet are dry and calloused, or if they're just hot and tired after a long days' work, a coffee foot scrub can exfoliate the skin, and leave your feet feeling refreshed and soothed. Things You'll Need

  • 6 tbsp. ground coffee
  • 4 tbsp. corn meal
  • 4 tbsp. sea salt
  • 5 tsp. jojoba oil, sweet almond oil or sesame oil
  • 2 drops peppermint oil
  • 2 drops lavender oil (optional)

Instructions

      Place the coffee ground, sea salt and corn meal in a small mixing bowl and stir them until they're completely mixed and no lumps remain.

      Stir in the oils, including the essential oils, and mix well until it forms a paste.

      Apply the coffee foot scrub to your feet and massage them in a circular motion. Continue as long as it feels good.

      Rinse your feet gently with warm water and pat them dry with soft towels.

      Store unused coffee foot scrub in the refrigerator, in a sealed container.

Tips & Warnings

  • The coffee grounds can be fresh, or they can be used from your morning coffee.

  • If you don't have jojoba oil, sweet almond oil or sesame oil, extra virgin olive oil makes an excellent substitute.

  • A coffee foot scrub will be more effective if you apply if after a warm shower so the skin will be soft and easier to exfoliate. Alternatively, you can soak your feet in warm water before you apply the coffee scrub.

  • Don't use a coffee food scrub if you have diabetic neuropathy or any problems with circulation, or if you have any cuts or open sores on your feet.
