How to use Templates for a Beauty Salon Business Plan
For your beauty salon to succeed, you need a business plan which maps out your actions for the next year. Because most businesses fail because the owners did not plan enough, writing a business plan ensures that you have thought through all of the factors that lead to success.

1
Retrieve a business plan template from a reputable source such as the Small Business Association (see Additional Resources), a federal government office which helps people in small business succeed. Such plans are templates that you fill out with information from your own business.
-
2
Write down everything you already know about your beauty salon business such as the name, location, size, number of employees and services you will offer. Research other salons--your competition--for the going rate for services, good locations and other information.
-
3
Research your marketing plan, how you will make your salon different from all the others. Explain your market niche, the need you fill that others do not. Decide now on the number of chairs, hours of operation and how many operators you plan to hire.
-
4
Use the forms to show your financial plan, including the money you need to start, where it will come from, how much you will need to make each month to show a profit and what investment you plan to make in the business. Remember that you will need to buy or lease chairs and other equipment before you open.

Write the executive summary last, a brief version of your whole plan. Make it a one-page summary of your whole plan, balancing strengths and weaknesses. Show your passion for your business and your investors will see you and your salon as a good investment.
