Allergies got you down??
Allergies got you down??

When you suffer from allergies it can be frustrating to say the very least. Itchy watery eyes, scratchy mouth and throat, sneezing so much you almost want your runny or sometimes stuffy nose to fall off-anything for relief.

Some have indoor allergies such as dust mites, pet dander, smoke and things of that nature. Some have outdoor allergies from pollutants in the air we breathe such as pollen, dust, weeds, trees, grass and the such.

Well look below to find tried and true methods and ways to give you relief.

As an allergy sufferer myself I can relate to how you feel and can empathize, as this was my motivation for this article.

After being seen by many allergists & doctors, and spending over $5,000 collectively in medical bills, co-pays, OTC medications, prescriptions and allergy shots I can attest that the below tips worked for me.

By following the below steps in your daily life you will be happy to say you finally found relief and can live your life alot more comfortably and suffer less from allergy symptoms.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Using a warm mist humidifier at night may relieve symptoms.

  2. Step 2

A sinus rinse or netti (neti)nasal pot sold over the counter will help to keep nasal passages clean and free of allergens. This will also help to clean out sinus passages. They are easy to use too! Ask your pharmacist/primary care physician and/or allergist of the benefits of using these products. The benefit and relief is exceptional

  3. Step 3

Buy an air purifier as this helps to reduce and clean the air of allergens, pollutants and even pet dander.

  4. Step 4

Pillow/mattress covers are beneficial to reduce dust mites.

  5. Step 5

Berber rugs are good, stay away from shag and plush rugs. Wood/tile/ceramic floors are best!!

  6. Step 6

Change bed sheets as often as possible and wash in hot water to kill dust mites.

  7. Step 7

Dry your laundry in the dryer. Hanging clothes on the line will allow dust and pollen to get into the fabrics of your clothes.

  8. Step 8

Dip a comb in a glass of warm water and fabric softener and brush your pet. This will keep dander and shedding down too! (If you are concerned about your pet being allergic use a dye/perfume free fabric softener)

  9. Step 9

Keep a clean home and dust often to help reduce allergens and dust.

  10. Step 10

Remove your clothes that you wore outside when you get home and shower in the evenings. This will remove the pollen from your body and hair and reduce the pollen in your home.

  11. Step 11

Air conditioning will help to clean the air and provide relief from allergy symptoms in your home and car too!

  12. Step 12

Clean air filters often, including in your car, vacuum and air conditioner.

Tips & Warnings
  • Water, water, water! Drink plenty of fluids and keep the body hydrated.
  • It is always best to consult your doctor before taking any medical advice.
