This spooky tablescape is perfect for a Halloween party, for kids or adults. It is quick and easy to pull together using supplies from the grocery and crafts stores. You can adapt this Halloween tablescape for a buffet table as well.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Cover the table with a piece of black cloth. The edges can be left ragged and frayed.

  2. Step 2

Cut out pumpkin shaped place mats from orange craft paper. Put one at each place setting.

  3. Step 3

Set the table with orange and black dishes. You can pick up inexpensive plastic (or even paper) dishes at Wal-Mart or other discount stores.

  4. Step 4

Purchase paper napkins that are orange or black or have some kind of Halloween print. Roll them up and secure with a plastic spider ring, which you can find with the Halloween treats at the store. Place the napkin on the center of each plate.

  5. Step 5

Fill a tall clear vase with water and fake eyeballs and other body parts for ghoulish centerpiece.

  6. Step 6

Make name cards out of black construction paper cut in the shape of a bat and write each guest's name in silver metallic marker.

  7. Step 7

Line the center of the table with plenty of candles for spooky lighting. Vary the candle heights from tall to the short.

Tips & Warnings
  • Round out your Halloween tablescape with some spooky music playing in the background. Pick up a special Halloween CDs that features chilling screams, eerie footsteps and creaking doors and play it softly in the background during dinner.
  • Make sure candles are out of reach of children, pets and anything else that could catch fire.
