Follow the person secretly. Learn from spy movies and novels and wear a disguise. Stay out of sight by blending in with a crowd. Stay at least two or three car-lengths behind if you're following a driver.

Set up hidden video cameras in places like vents and shelves. Look for voice activated cameras or cameras with built-in motion detectors. Just set it up when no one is around and watch the film after a supposed transgression.

Check the cookies, Internet history of pages visited and deleted emails on the person's computer. Many people don't realize how easy it is for someone to check out what they've been doing on the computer. "Delete" doesn't always mean gone. Install spy software that works behind the scenes and that you can check at your convenience.

Buy a GPS tracker and attach it to the object of your spying. There are models available as small as a dime and can easily be stashed in a backpack or pocketbook.

Go through the person's drawers, pockets and other personal belongings when they aren't looking. The key to not getting caught at this endeavor is to put everything back the way you found it. Look for things like receipts, phone numbers, pictures and other signs of hanky panky.

Get a video survelience system that is disguised as a smoke detector. Unfortunately, they cost $500. Good article.
