The Hacker's Diet author John Walker claims that the Hacker's Diet will teach you how to lose weight and hair through stress and poor nutrition. In actuality, the premise of this diet is simple, eat less food than your body needs. In addition to the actual diet, he has a series of journals to keep track of your weight loss and calories burned.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Read the Hacker's Diet online book, a link is provided in the Resources section, to find out about the program. Make sure that this is a diet program that you feel comfortable following.

  2. Step 2

Start an account online for the Hacker's Diet online journal. A link to the sign in page is located in the Resources section. This is necessary to track your progress using the spreadsheets and charts used in the Hacker's Diet

  3. Step 3

Attempt to understand the instructions for reading the online journal and successfully inputting your information. The instructions are complex. You will need a significant amount of uninterrupted time to understand them fully.

  4. Step 4

Weigh yourself daily and input the numbers. Skipping just one day of inputting information will change the overall results of the graphs.

  5. Step 5

Input your exercise rung daily if you will track your exercise rung. You do this by using plus and minus characters.

  6. Step 6

Write any information concerning your diet or exercise for the day in the comments section. One important thing for females to note in this section is when they are menstruating. Females tend to gain weight during menstruation.

  7. Step 7

Download your information to a smart phone or PDA if desired. This feature makes it easier for some users to journal. In addition, this is the format for which the program was originally made.

Tips & Warnings
  • As an alternative to using the online method, you can track your progress on a calendar at home by simply writing your weight on the calendar daily. Once you do this, figure out your total weight loss and write it down. Finally, write down your total amount of exercise and any important notes for the day.
