If you have a scanner along with Adobe Fireworks CS3, you can directly scan any photo or document from your scanner to Fireworks. When you do this you can choose to scan in color and crop the image before you scan it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Put the image you want to scan in Fireworks in your scanner and start Adobe Fireworks CS3 on your computer. The way you should place your image in the scanner is based on the instructions for how to scan outlined in your scanner manual.

  2. Step 2

Choose the "File" menu, point to "Scan" and click on "Twain Select" to open the "Select Source" dialog box.

  3. Step 3

Click on the name of your scanner in the "Sources" text box of the "Select Source" dialog box. Click the "Select" button. This action tells Fireworks what scanner you want to use to scan the image.

  4. Step 4

Select the "File" menu, point to "Scan" and click on "Twain Acquire" to open the "Twain Acquire" dialog box.

  5. Step 5

Verify that "Scan to Adobe Fireworks" is selected in the text box of the dialog box. Check the option to scan the image in color if you would like and choose the option to "Select parts of a page or View page first" if you want to crop the image before scanning it.

  6. Step 6

Use the "Scan" button from the "Twain Acquire" dialog box. The dialog box will close and the image will be scanned into Fireworks.
