How to Forward Email to a Different Account

Many people have more than one email account--personal, work, miscellaneous--and soon it can become a full time job just opening your accounts each day and reading your email. Make life easier and forward all your mail to one account.

Instructions

    • 1

Start a new email account. Get a free email account with Yahoo or Hotmail that has a large amount of storage--some offer as much as 5 gig of email space.

    • 2

Sign into your other email accounts. Go to "Settings" or "Options" depending on what your email account calls it.

    • 3

Find the option to "forward mail to another account."

    • 4

Enter the email address you want to forward the mail to. Sometimes there are limitations to what addresses you can forward too, so read the instructions associated with your email account.

    • 5

Decide if you want to keep a copy in your old email account. You can forward the email and then delete it or you can forward the email and save a copy in your Inbox or another folder.

    • 6

Save your changes and your emails will go to the new email address. Alternatively, you can set up filters so you only forward some of your emails. If you have a large amount of junk email coming to one of your email addresses, look into setting up filters rather than forwarding everything.
