Things You'll Need:
- Crochet hook
- Yarn
-
Step 1
Determine what size crochet hook to use. Hooks are measured in millimeters and larger hooks make a looser stitch.
-
Step 2
Crochet a chain as wide as your want your bib to be. Hold the hook in your dominant hand and the yarn in the other, place the hook in a slipknot and pull tight to the hook. Hook the yarn and pull through with your work extending to the right. Continue until you reach the desired width of the bib.
-
Step 3
Turn over and use a double crochet stitch to work your way back across the width of the bib. Continue until you reach the desired length of the bib.
-
Step 4
Decide what type of tie you would like to use to secure the bib around baby. Crocheted strings, ribbon or straps with hook and loop fasteners are some of your options.
-
Step 5
Make crocheted ties by creating a slipknot on your hook and inserting it through one side of the bib. Single crochet a chain to the desired length. Repeat on the opposite side.
-
Step 6
Sew ribbon to each side of the bib if this is your preference. Attach hook and loop fasteners to the ribbon or other strap if desired.
-
Step 7
Weave in loose ends by hooking them in and out of stitches. This gives the bib a clean appearance.
