2 by 4-inch boards
Wood screws
Wooden storm windows

Step1

Decide where you want to add the sun room. If you have a double-wide mobile home, put it across the back in order to view the backyard. Lay and finish a floor in the area according to the dimensions you require for the sun room.

Step2

Locate windows in the salvage yard, where there is often a good variety. Get as many of the old-style wooden storm windows as you can find. These must match to make your job easier.

Step3

Remove old paint and putty by scraping and sanding. Check to see if the remaining glazing compound is intact.

Step4

Opt for 4 by 4-inch posts to hold up the sun room. Dig the post holes 6 to 8 feet apart in the area of your future sun room. Set the posts in and add concrete to secure them. Add extra support as needed.

Step5

Use wood screws to attach a row of 2 by 4-inch boards to the posts. The boards should be parallel to the ground and about 4 feet above it. Add another row of horizontal 2 by 4-inch boards at the line where you will position the bottom of your storm windows. Now put another row of 2 by 4-inch boards at the top line of the windows.

Step6

Finish the wood showing between the windows as desired. Repaint the frames to the color you need.

Roof the sun room with your roofing that matches your existing mobile home roof.
