A Bowflex Revolution XP Home Gym is a compact total body gym in one machine. It allows you to do upper body workouts, lower body workouts, and core and ab workouts. You can pump up your core workouts by 40 percent if you add the optional Ab Back Pad. Using the back pad as a part of your normal core workouts will leave you with a flatter, leaner and more defined core.

Things You'll Need:

  • Bowflex Revolution XP
  • Bowflex Revolution XP back pad
  1. Step 1

Attach the Bow flex Revolution XP Ab back pad to the machine.

  2. Step 2

Lay on the bench with your back against the ab back pad. Make sure that the pad is comfortably under your lower back so that you do not injure yourself while exercising.

  3. Step 3

Perform an abdominal crunch. Cross your arms over your chest. If your neck gets tired while crunching, feel free to move the arms behind the head to support it. Contract your abdominal muscles and move upwards. Control all of your movements up and down.

  4. Step 4

Do a resisted ab crunch. Set up the bench on an incline. Sit with your back against the pad. Take the resistance handles and bring them to your chest. Collapse you forearms against your chest. Contract your abdominal muscles to come forward slightly. Concentrate on using the muscles to pull your body forward.

  5. Step 5

Try other core exercises. Use the back pad to enhance your core and ab training exercises. Try to vary your movements to achieve targeting all of the core muscles.
