Step 1
Get the appropriate education to be awarded a journalism internship with a baseball organization. A degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or English from a 4-year university will usually get your name to the top of the list of candidates applying.
-
Step 2
Search baseball job boards on the Internet for internships in journalism through a particular organization or league. Some very helpful and highly regarded job board sites include the Official Website of Major League Baseball, Major League Baseball's Job Board and Baseball Jobs.
-
Step 3
Apply for the internships. Send emails to teams and leagues that do not have your particular interest posted. Include a cover letter detailing your college degree and career goals, and attach your resume.
-
Step 4
Work hard at your internship. Keep in mind that this is your job, and you have plenty of people to impress. If this is a career you want to keep for the rest of your days, it has to start there.

on 7/17/2009 Well written. Finding a good journalism internship can be tough. Finding a good internship in general can be tough if you want to avoid those coffee fetching, envelope licking ones! I'd recommend researching reviews on different journalism internships. One site that is good with this is www.UltimateIntern.com. This site provides comprehensive internship reviews posted by actual interns. So, you'll see how they got the job, the best and worst part of it, daily tasks, and tips and advice for potential interns. Good Luck!
