The frozen computer screen office prank is a funny prank that takes very little time to set up. When the coworker leaves their office or cube, all it takes is a few clicks to set her up. Practicing the setup helps to speed up the process to ensure the coworker doesn't walk in while it's being done.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Take a screen shot of the victim's computer desktop. The easiest way to do this is by pressing the F12 key on the keyboard.

  2. Step 2

Paste the screenshot into an image file. Press Control and V simultaneously to paste the screenshot into a file.

  3. Step 3

Set the background to the screenshot image. Right click on the desktop, and go to background. Select the image that was created from the background by using the browse button and locating it.

  4. Step 4

Hide all the icons on the desktop. Drag and drop them out of sight, or put them all in a single folder and hide the folder. After they're in place, right click on the desktop and lock the settings.

  5. Step 5

Lock the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Click on the top of the taskbar and drag it down so that it's not visible. Make sure it doesn't pop up when you mouse over it by locking the taskbar in the desktop settings.

  6. Step 6

Get ready to laugh. When the victim gets back to his desk, he will think his computer is frozen and try everything to unfreeze it. The screenshot will make it appear as if the icons are there, but aren't working.
