Step 1
Purchase or make the staging elements. Make sure that they can support the weight of the performance and gear, plus 50 lbs. Each section of staging should be 8 by 4 feet. The legs should be of uniform height.

Step 2
Get all of your equipment, including tools, to the location a few hours ahead of time. Anyone that's going to help you should show up early, as there might not be any help needed shortly.

Step 3
Place the legs on each portion of the staging before erecting that portion. Put each section into place as you get it put together, making any height adjustments as you go.

Step 4
Clamp the external legs of each section together after assuring yourself that the stage is even. This prevents shifting of the stage and accidental falls.

Step 5
Place any additional staging, such as a mat, to smooth out the entire surface.
