Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tape measure
  • Sheer fabric
  • Scissors
  • Sewing machine and sewing supplies
  • Iron
  1. Step 1

Measure your table with a tape measure. You'll need the length, width and the drop off the sides. If you're using card tables, plan for the fabric to go all the way to the floor. A puddle of fabric is a luxurious look. Don't forget to add about 2 inches for the hem.

  2. Step 2

Shop for your fabric. Most fabric stores carry a variety of sheer fabric.

  3. Step 3

Cut the fabric to your specified dimensions and hem, using either French seams or surged seams. Lay the tablecloth on a flat surface and fold each corner to form a mitered point. Stitch.

  4. Step 4

Press your sheer tablecloth using a low heat setting. High heat will damage the fabric.

  5. Step 5

Make a super easy no sew tablecloth if you don't sew, or just don't want to sew. Simply cut the fabric with pinking sheers. For a round tablecloth, lay your sheer fabric on the floor. Place a round tablecloth on top of it and use it as a template to cut your fabric with pinking sheers. If you don't want the edge to show, just puddle your fabric and turn the raw ends under.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use the leftover sheer fabric to add more decorations for your party. Make soft knots to tie up your tablecloth at the corners. Swirl lengths of the fabric around a vase filled with fresh flowers.
