Yes, making a knife out of a filter cigarette seems strange, but it can be done. This process was first done in prisons but now anyone can make a knife in just a few seconds. Follow the steps below to make this unique weapon.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cigarette filter
  • Lighter
  1. Step 1

Cut the filter away from the cigarette. This is the only part you will need for this process.

  2. Step 2

Remove the paper from around the filter. This may be the most difficult part of the entire process. Take your time and remain patient while doing this. Do not dispose of the burning material known as cotton. This will be used later.

  3. Step 3

Use the lighter to burn the cotton end of the filter. Once it catches fire, blow it out immediately. If all the cotton burns up, you need to start again with a new cigarette.

  4. Step 4

Press the cotton together with the end of the lighter, or by using your fingers. You want the cotton to be as compact as possible but keep in mind it will still be hot.

  5. Step 5

Scrape the still warm cotton across a hard surface such as a table. Do this several times to produce a sharp edge and point on the cotton. This has to be done quickly to prevent the cotton from hardening before it can be formed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Only use cigarettes that have never been smoked.
  • This object is not a knife that is intended to be used. It is simply a sharp edge created by friction and fire that has the capabilities of cutting.
  • Be careful so that you don't burn yourself.
