EA's Skate is the company's first major extreme sports release for next-generation gaming consoles. Although it's not available on the Wii, Skate made a good impression on reviewers using both the XBOX 360 and the Playstation 3. In addition to its excellent graphics and realistic physics, one reason for Skate's success is its large repertoire of tricks. The Rocket Air is one of these signature tricks. Read on to learn how to do a Rocket Air on EA's Skate.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Skate as fast as you can into a ramp or jump. The Rocket Air is a difficult grab, and you'll need lots of air to pull it off.
Step2
Ollie toward the top of the ramp. Get as much air off of the jump as you can.
Step3
Hold down the right control stick while you're in the air to tilt your board backwards. This preps your board for the grab portion of the Rocket Air.
Step4
Press and hold down the left grab trigger to perform a nosegrab.
Step5
Perform the Rocket Air by holding down the right grab trigger as well. Make sure you're holding both of the triggers down, or your skater won't do the trick.

Tips & Warnings

  • Angle your skateboard coming into the jump so that you land moving straight forward. If you're out of line when you land, you'll crash.
  • Make sure you get a ton of air before trying the trick. It takes a while to complete, and you'll slam hard on the deck if you don't make it.
  • Perform a Rocket Air in Career Mode to get the "Rocket Man" icon award.
