Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Flash program
  • DVD Codec
  1. Step 1

Select the Flash icon on your desktop, or locate the Macromedia folder in your program files and select Flash. Click on "File" and pick "New" or "Open" to open a specific file or create a new file in Flash.

  2. Step 2

Adjust the size of the video to 720 by 540. Don't worry about the other settings. Flash adjusts them appropriately. When you export, the height changes from 520 to 480. Take note of this as you create or edit the file.

  3. Step 3

Review all the animations in the Flash movie. All exported Flash animations must be set as a graphic. When you export the Flash select "Export as Graphic" to make sure it's set as a graphic.

  4. Step 4

Click on "Export" in the File menu and then click "Export Movie." Set the export to AVI in the window that pops up.

  5. Step 5

Change the settings. Under "Demotions" change the size to 720 by 480 for a standard format, or to 853 by 480 for widescreen. DV and DVD files run this size files better than others. Click the Compress Video box or Compressor. Set the video to 24-bit color. Check the box beside "Smooth." Adjust the sound to 44kHz 16-bit Stereo.

  6. Step 6

Chose the DV Codec if you are using windows and click "OK." For a Mac, simply click "OK."
