How to Delete Viewpoint Spyware
Viewpoint is a software that installs itself when you install AOL or AIM on your computer. It consists of a web content viewer plug-in that is much like Real Player and Quicktime for AOL content and a Yahoo-powered toolbar. If you're not using AOL or AIM, delete Viewpoint without hurting your system.

Enable the viewing of hidden files and folders so you can remove Viewpoint spyware. Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." Find and click the "Folder Options" icon. Click the "View" tab at the top of the pop-up box. Scroll down until you find "Show Hidden Files and Folders" and check the box next to this option.

Remove the Viewpoint spyware reinstallation files. Right-click on "Start" and select "Explore." Click "My Computer" and open Drive C. Double-click "Program Files" to expand the folder.

Find the "AIM" folder and open it. Double-click "Sysfiles." Find and right-click on the "Viewpoint" icon. Select "Delete" from the pop-up menu.

Return to "Program Files." Find the "America Online" folder and open it. Look for a folder labeled "Jiti" and open it as well. Right-click on the "Viewpoint" icon. Select "Delete" from the pop-up menu.

Remove Viewpoint spyware content. Click on "Start" and open "Control Panel." Select "Add/Remove Programs." Delete the Viewpoint spyware toolbar and media player.

Right-click on "Start" and select "My Computer." Double-click on drive C. Expand the Program Files folder to open it. Find the Viewpoint spyware folder and right-click on it. Select "Delete" from the pop-up menu.

Click on "Start" and select the "Search" icon. Type in "Viewpoint" and run a search of your whole system to detect any remaining traces of Viewpoint spyware or related cookies. Delete any remnants of Viewpoint spyware you find.
