PhotoFiltre is a free graphics software that allows you to superimpose various filters onto photos and to manipulate photos using various brushes, textures and patterns. Making cool patterns in PhotoFiltre is a function of layering multiple colors and blurring or sharpening the color washes.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Download PhotoFiltre for free. If you prefer to use PhotoFiltre in a language other than English, be sure to select the correct language file according to the download instructions.

  2. Step 2

Install and open PhotoFiltre on your PC.

  3. Step 3

Click on "File" at the top of the PhotoFiltre screen and select "New" to begin a new project. This enables the tool icons to the right of the working area.

  4. Step 4

Look at the color pallet to the right of the working area and select two colors for your cool design, one for your primary color and one for your secondary color.

  5. Step 5

Click on the color you selected for the primary color in the cool PhotoFiltre design.

  6. Step 6

Select the spray can tool from the tool icons to the right of the working area.

  7. Step 7

Change the spray radius to 300 in the entry box below the tool icons. Spray a fill layer of the primary color across the working area.

  8. Step 8

Go back to the color pallet and select your cool PhotoFiltre design secondary color. Spray a layer of the second color over the primary color.

  9. Step 9

Use the "Blur" and "Sharpen" effects available in the Filter option menu at the top of the PhotoFiltre screen.

  10. Step 10

Spray lines of varying thicknesses across the screen two or three times to create depth in the cool PhotoFiltre pattern.

  11. Step 11

Sharpen and blur segments of the lines again until you are satisfied with your cool pattern.
