One of the more unique features on the Rock Band game is the ability to play drums. The "controller" actually looks like a mini-drum set and comes with drum sticks. As you play, you drum certain panels on the drum kit to play drums in the game. Once you get the hang of it, playing drums on Rock Band is a fun way to spend your time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Build your drum set according to the enclosed directions. Plug it into your gaming console.

  2. Step 2

Turn on your gaming console, choose a rocker, a song and choose the drums as your instrument. Choose a difficulty level. If this is your first time playing the drums, start with easy. It also may be easier to choose a song you already know.

  3. Step 3

Note the four circles (pads) in front of you. Each circle has a specific color. There's also a pedal on the floor with an orange color on it.

  4. Step 4

Start the song. You'll see what looks like the neck of a guitar with colored bands on it on the screen.

  5. Step 5

Each time the colored bands hits the bar at the bottom of the screen, drum on the corresponding colored pad.

  6. Step 6

Pay attention to the orange lines across the neck of the guitar on your screen. These orange bands mean to hit the pedal on the floor each time the bands touch the bottom of the screen. Pay attention to how the song sounds—if it doesn't sound correct, you're not playing the drums correctly and will fail the song.

Tips & Warnings
  • As you get to more difficult levels, you'll have to hit multiple notes at the same time. You'll have to practice to be able to do this successfully.
