Step 1
Write with keywords in mind. Your topic should be something people search for and are interested in reading, and the topic should pull in related advertisements as well. Use keyword suggestion tools to find out what keywords should shape your article.
-
Step 2
Search on eHow to make sure that your title, or a similar one, has not already been written. Duplicate titles are not ranked as well, so you're better off finding a unique topic. It's also courteous to other writers not to copy their titles.
-
Step 3
Learn basic search engine optimization. Use your keywords in your eHow title, several times in the body, and in your keywords section when inputting the article.
-
Step 4
Stumble your articles. Have you ever used StumbleUpon? If not, it's time to start! Stumble drives large amounts of traffic to your articles, even more than Digg, in my experience.
-
Step 5
Be inspired by others' successes.
WriterGig (that's me!) makes over $1,000 a month through eHow.
Shannon, with 54 eHow articles, made just under $100/month in both April 2008 and May 2008.
Many other users have reported making several hundred dollars a month, after less than a year of creating an eHow profile and writing!
