Things You'll Need:
- Cream eye shadow
- Powder eye shadow
- Liquid liner
- Mascara
- Eyelash curler
-
Step 1
Prep your eyes with a base of sparkly cream shadow. If you're using two complementary colors like gold and green, then use a gold cream base. This adds sparkle and gives the powder shadow something to cling to.
-
Step 2
Apply a darker shade of eye shadow in the crease and the outer lid of the eye. If using the same colors, make the outer edge of the eye more dramatic by really layering on the color.
-
Step 3
Put dark liner on the top and bottom rims of the eyes. It's best to use liquid liner like MAC's fluidliners or a pot liner like Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliner. Black is the color of choice, but Alicia Keys also matches her liner to her eye shadow sometimes for a really dramatic effect.
-
Step 4
Curl your eyelashes and apply a heavy layer of thickening mascara. Ashunta Sherriff, who was Alicia Keys main makeup artist for one of her tours, liked using TGI Bedhead mascara for Alicia's eyes.
