How to Deposit a Check into the Bank and Have it Clear Right Away

1. Find out what bank the check is drawn on. Simply look at the letterhead on the check to find out what bank it was issued by. Look up the bank on the Internet and find out what branch is nearest to you.
2. Visit a branch of that bank and cash the check. Head to the closest branch and cash the check.
3. Take the cash to the bank that you have an account with. Now go to the bank that you bank with.
4. Deposit the cash and watch it post immediately. Fill out the deposit form and deposit the cash. It will post immediately to your account.

Tips & Warnings

• This is the oldest trick in the book. Why wait for your check to clear, when you can cash it and then deposit the cash?
• Banks are not fond of this because they like to take their sweet time clearing your check. If the check is drawn on the same bank, go to one branch to cash it, and another to deposit the cash.
