Cinderella's ball is one of the most glamorous and exciting conclusions to any fairy tale. Little girls around the world enjoy dressing up as Cinderella for costume parties, trips to Disney World and just for fun. Help your little girl feel extra special by giving her a Cinderella hairdo for a special occasion. This is a fast, easy style to achieve and will make the little princess in your life feel like she has stepped right into a fairy tale.
Things You'll Need
- Hair spray
- Hair brush
- Bobby pins
- Rubber hair band
- Spray bottle of water
Dampen the hair with the spray bottle of water. Do not soak it, just lightly mist the hair to make it more manageable. Children's hair is often thinner and finer than adult hair, so getting it wet makes it easier to style and keeps it from sticking to your fingers.
Pull all of the hair into a low pony tail at the nape of the neck. The pony tail should be relatively tight, but not so tight that it pulls her face back or hurts her head. You can fasten the pony tail with the rubber band.
Twist the pony tail upward toward the top of your child's head. A French twist will appear behind the twisted part of the pony tail.
Tuck the ends of the pony tail down and under the twisted section of hair. Do not let go of the pony tail yet. You have not yet fixed the style in place. The end of the pony tail should be hidden from view.
Use bobby pins to secure the style. You will probably need 10 to 15 bobby pins. Place them around the twisted-under edge of the hairstyle to anchor it to the head. Also use some in the top where the pony tail is tucked in.
Spray the whole thing with a lot of hair spray. Remember, a child will be much harder on a hairstyle like this than an adult. It is okay to make it feel like cement or it will never hold through the day.
Top the whole thing off with a tiara. Smaller tiaras work better than large ones because they can be anchored using the combs attached to them and do not pinch the head. If your Cinderella insists on a large tiara, you will need to secure it with bobby pins and then spray the whole masterpiece one more time.
Dust her with glitter. You can say "bibbity-bobbity-boo" while sprinkling her with "fairy dust" to complete the effect. Now, she's off to the ball.
