How to Get Married in Sharia Court
All nationalities of Muslims can marry in Sharia Court as long as they meet legal, medical and residence requirements and take the steps needed to ready for the wedding. To get married in Sharia Court a man must be Muslim and the wife can be Jewish, Christian or Muslim. The requirement and steps needed to take before the marriage take place are lengthy and must be done in order. Any step that is passed over will result in a rejection to be married in Sharia Court.

Present a residence visa. If the legal guardian of the wife is escorting her, then only the future husband needs to have a resident visa. This will be sufficient to fill this requirement.

Medical reports from the future wife are required. This can be obtained at a hospital or a clinic run by the government. If the husband is the one that has a resident visa, then the legal guardian of the wife must supply his or her medical reports in place of the husband.

Divorced future wives must provide proof of the divorce and the status. If the divorce is granted because of a court judgment, a document stating that the divorce is not on appeal is submitted.

If the legal guardian of the wife is not Muslim, but the future wife is, a letter is needed from the Consulate that states that there is no marriage objection. The document must be translated and ratified by the Foreign Ministry.

The couple will need to have two witnesses that are Muslim. However, if the wife is of another faith, she can have two witnesses from her faith. All passports for the couple and witnesses need to be provided.
