How to Synchronize Bookmarks Across Multiple Computers

After you have been on the Internet for a while, you accumulate a number of websites in your bookmarks folder. They make it easy for you to visit these websites without having to type their URLs (Universal Resource Locators) or remember their addresses. The problem is that your bookmarks are in one computer and you have no way of accessing them from any other computers. Now there is a way to synchronize and access your bookmarks across multiple computers.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Foxmarks Software
  1. Step 1

    Download Foxmarks software. Go to Foxmarks website or Firefox add-on page and download Foxmarks software. See Resources below for additional information.

  2. Step 2

    Click Install and follow on-screen prompts to setup your account. Choose a username and password when prompted. Write down your username and password. You will need them to set up other computers.

  3. Step 3

    Click Finish when setup is complete.

  4. Step 4

    Install Foxmarks on other computers you wish to synchronize. Choose Yes on the prompt asking if you already have an account. Enter your username and password. Remember to use the same username and password on every computer.

    Click Checkbox to Remember Password, Enable Automatic Synchronization and Sync On Shutdown. Click Ok.

  6. Step 6

    Click Tools, Foxmarks, then Synchronize to synchronize your bookmarks. Repeat on every computer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Foxmarks works only with Mozilla Firefox browser. It will not work with Microsoft Explorer browser.
  • Foxmarks will synchronize your bookmarks on every computer automatically after you set it up.
  • Foxmarks also works on web-enabled smartphones and pdas. Follow the steps above to set up your web-enabled phones.
