The outside to inside block in Soo Bahk Do is relatively easy to do once you learn how to maintain proper form and balance. You can practice this move by yourself or with a partner. This block is commonly used in tournaments and in combat training as a way to protect the body while transitioning from one move to another.

Instructions

    How to Do the Outside to Inside Block in Soo Bahk Do

  1. Step 1

    Begin in a fighting stance. Bend your left leg. Position your right leg behind you and turn out your foot to create an 'L' shape. Turn your body slightly to the right. Your left arm should be bent at the elbow and close to the body. Bend your right elbow and raise your right arm to your chest. Clench both fists.

  2. Step 2

    Raise your right arm to ear level. Straighten your left arm. Continue to turn your body to the right.

  3. Step 3

    Push off using your left leg. As you move, your right leg should come forward. Your right foot should sweep forward as you go into this block. Move your left leg back and turn out your left foot for balance.

  4. Step 4

    To block your opponent, raise your right arm so it's in front of your body. Lower your left left to your side.

  5. Step 5

    Continue moving throughout so you can block other attempts from your opponent.
