1. Pick a plain shirt or buy one at any department store. Make sure it fits you well and has no woven patterns or interesting textures on it. Starting with a plain t-shirt will give you the most creative freedom.

2. Pick a design to go on the front of the t-shirt. It can be anything ranging from a funky graphic design to graffitti type letters of a word or a saying. This is your opportunity to be creative and pick what you want to be seen on the front of your t-shirt.

3. Take your design and go to a print shop. Print shops are usually very experienced with working on urban t shirts and will give you suggestions on how big you can make the printed graphic on the shirt. They will also be able to tell you what colors work best on the solid t-shirt you've selected.
