Brand new patio furniture can be quite costly and sometimes a patio set can be more expensive than a dining tables and chairs. Perhaps this is why it's so frustrating and disappointing when patio furniture breaks. While it's common knowledge that time and the elements can take their toll on patio furniture, nobody expects their furniture to fall apart. It may feel like a hopeless situation, but there are a few things you can do to repair parts for patio furniture.

Things You'll Need

• Iron
• Iron-on patches
• Sand
• Screwdriver
• Multi-purpose lubricant

Instructions

1. Use an iron-on patch to fix a rip or tear on an umbrella or cushion. Simply lay the fabric flat, place the patch over the tear, and iron the patch.

2. Fix a leaky umbrella stand by replacing the water with sand. Simply drain the water and fill the plastic umbrella stand with sand. Often, plastic umbrella stands develop pin-sized holes on the seam. While water will leak, the sand should stay put.

3. Tighten screws and nuts on the bottoms and backings of chairs and benches. This will prevent the legs and arm-rests from wobbling.

4. Spray multi-purpose lubricant on rusty springs on patio swings. Not only will this enable the swing to move with ease, but it will prevent it from squeaking.
