How to Rent a Riad in Morocco

A riad is a perfect accommodation to stay in when visiting Morocco. A riad provides you with an authentic experience and taste of the local culture. Most riads are former homes turned hotel. They are a couple of stories high and have a central courtyard with either a lounge or fountain as the central theme.

Instructions

  1. Renting a Riad in Morocco

    • 1

Conduct an Internet search for "riads in Morocco." This will pull up numerous individual riads you can rent up to agencies that promote certain riads.

    • 2

Pick the location in Morocco you would like to stay in and select a few of the riads you are interested in staying in.

    • 3

Determine what factors are most important to you. Do you want a pool, courtyard or air conditioning. This will help narrow down your search.

    • 4

Contact the riad's management or the agency representing it to interview them more in depth about the riad. This communication should happen via email since there is a time zone difference.

    • 5

Ask the riad or agency for references from other guests. They should provide you with people who have stayed there before. Most of these people are from Europe or Asia, so expect it may take a couple to days to get answers back from these former guests.

    • 6

Book your riad stay once you have investigated all the factors that may influence your choice.
