Place a long, blond wig on your head. You want to braid it loosely. A perfected head of hair will not serve Pollyanna. Her hair is unkempt. She has more important things on her mind.

Wear a raggedy old dress, but give it a few frills. Pollyanna received her dress from charity. She has an imagination so she has improved it a bit. There's only so much a little girl can do, though. Make sure you feel cute in your dress, but don't make it too fancy.
