Making audio adjustments with Premiere Pro is not as difficult as it may appear. Once you have imported video clips and placed them in a sequence, there are a couple ways you can adjust the volume directly in the Timeline panel.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Expand the track with the audio track. Click on the little triangle to the left of the track’s name.

  2. Step 2

Click on the icon to “Show Keyframes.” It is the button beneath the audio track name and just to the left. When you click on the lower right-hand corner a menu will open.

  3. Step 3

Click on “Show Clip Keyframes” to edit the audio level of the clip or click on “Show Track Keyframes” to edit the level of the track’s audio.

  4. Step 4

To edit the audio level for a clip, go to the "Keyframe" menu and choose either" Volume," and then "Level," or "Track," and then "Volume," depending on which you are editing.

  5. Step 5

Select either the Pen or the Selection tool from the Toolbox. Use can use either tool to adjust the Volume level in the track by dragging it up to increase or down to decrease.
