1
Open a window on your computer that is a legitimate page related to your class. This will be your default page that you will open and leave open should your teacher start to walk around the room.
-
2
Open a seperate window strictly for surfing the net. It is important that you only use one window to surf the net. This makes it easy to close should your teacher start to walk near you. Having multiple windows open can get you caught if you cannot close them fast enough.
-
3
Visit only legitimate large sites that you are sure are safe. If you start to surf the smaller sites that you are unaware of you could find yourself with a virus on your computer and in a heap of trouble.
-
4
Never enter a web address into the address bar. Once you enter an address there it will stay there until the site is erased through the Internet options section.
-
5
Enter sites through a search engine such as Google or Yahoo. If there is a filter on your computer that will not allow you to visit the site such as Myspace, simply click the link below the search result marked "cached." This will allow it to open.
-
6
Do not minimize your legitimate site. Leave it up and open your surfing window over it. This way, if your teacher comes close to you, you can just close your surfing window and your legitimate site will be up.
-
7
Cover your tracks by erasing the web history and temporary Internet files. This can be found through your control panel. Be sure to delete your web history, temporary Internet files and auto complete history.
