Step 1
Feed the monkey at regular intervals during the day. Each species will have an optimal number of times that it should be fed. However many times it is, the monkey should be fed at the same time each day. This will keep the monkey from getting too hungry and having a drop in blood sugar. It is also comforting for the monkey to expect to be fed at a specific time of day. The monkey will get hungry at a certain time of day, know that he will soon be fed and will not develop behavioral problems related to hunger.

Step 2
Buy high-protein insects to mix in with the monkey's other foods. Monkeys eat a lot of produce, which is generally low on protein. Insects such as meal worms and grubs have high protein levels that can benefit the monkey's diet. Different types of monkeys need different percentages of protein in their diets. All monkeys, however, need regular protein in their diets. Boiled eggs are another way to add necessary protein to the diet.

Step 3
Provide the monkey with plenty of fresh produce. Fruit and vegetables are the staples of most monkey diets. Fruits such as bananas, mangoes, pears and apples are all fruits that are available in most areas and are high in vitamins. Vegetables such as carrots, spinach and lettuce are all appropriate for most species of monkeys.

Step 4
Add a few baked items into the monkey’s diet. Many monkeys love to crunch on items such as dog biscuits and crackers. These items can also help to clean their teeth.
